Community connectedness has a role to play in reducing the stigma associated with suicide and mental illness – a stigma which inhibits people from discussing their feelings and challenges. This connectedness is especially important during tough times like the COVID-19 pandemic, when individuals are isolated and under extraordinary stress. Break the silence and initiate conversation at an upcoming workshop on suicide prevention and mental health and wellness. People who are consistently well-rested have figured out the perfect quality and quantity balance to make them the type of sleepers we all envy. It goes without saying: becoming a new parent is a major life change. Both men and women are at risk of postpartum depression. One in 5 women and 1 in 10 men struggle with postpartum mood disorders. By building support networks, finding ways to communicate needs and expectations, practicing self-care, and setting boundaries, employees can survive and thrive as new parents.
